about

John Noone (born May 24, 1968) better known as DJ Jaymob,
was born in New York City and later moved to Orlando Florida. He began his producer career in the late 80s. By the early 90s DJ Jaymob was creating beats on a Emu SP-12 sampling drum machine for various MCs.

As part of a part of a group called Drastic Measures, he gained some
underground recognition and for his production on their debut release single with Cappadonna (WuTang) called Taking Drastic Measures.
From there he worked with the editor/rapper Isreal Vasquetelle who owned an online Magazine called "Insomniac Magazine". As an up-and-coming producer, he worked on other various projects,
including a few songs off an album called "The Mic Planet".

This album began what is now a regular trend of producing boom bap tracks for other underground artists. DJ Jaymob's production style relies on hard to find samples that comes from his vast collection of records. He attributes his production influences to be DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Diamond D, Lord Finesse, and the Large Professor.

The Golden Era of Hip Hop, regardless of the 5 aspects of Hip Hop (deejaying, MCing, break dancing, graffiti, spoken word) is a period in hip hop characterized by its diversity, quality, innovation and influence. This project is dedicated to the people who live,
breathe, and sleep Hip Hop.

My feeling about this project was that I wanted to create something that had all the elements of the Golden Era of hip hop inspired Boom Bap with the a modern approach to the mix. I also thought it was important to bring scratching back which seems to be an over sight in most production these days.

As a purist it's important to incorporate all elements of Hip Hop and remind the new generation to learn, understand, and appreciate the foundation and the growth it has made.
